Marie Waldrop Nicholson

Brevard -Marie Waldrop Nicholson, 90, passed away on September 27, 2012, at Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, N.C.

Mrs. Nicholson was a daughter of the late John and Addie Ross Waldrop.  She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond E. Nicholson who died in 2005, and a brother, Ralph Waldrop.

She was a member of Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church. Her passion was her family and she took great pride in being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and neighbor.  She took comfort from her church, family and neighbors.

She is survived by three daughters: Jane Nicholson of Boone, N.C., Martha McMinn (Lanny) of Montevallo, AL, and Margaret Selle of Brevard, N.C., one brother: Raleigh Waldrop of Cherryfield, N.C., five grandchildren: Katie Campbell, Sarah McMinn, William, Edward and Elizabeth Selle, one great grandson; Henry Campbell, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on October 1, 2012, at Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church with Rev. Keith Thompson officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. A private graveside service well be held at Gillespie-Evergreen Cemetery.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the comfort and care she received while she was a patient in Transylvania Regional Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church, 300 E. Main Street, Brevard, N.C.  28712.
