Martha Cramer

Martha Jean Orr Cramer, 87, of Brevard, peacefully went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 29, 2021. A native of Brevard, she was the daughter of the late David Orr Sr. and the late Thelma Brown Orr. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Lynn Depew, her first husband, Doug Depew, and her second husband, Robert Cramer.

Survivors include her daughters, Debra Cramer Anderson and her husband Billy Joe of Brevard, NC and Diane Cramer Williams and husband Robert L. Williams of Davenport, Iowa; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, David W. Orr, Jr., and James D. Orr; and her sister Sue Ann Miller, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Martha made her home in Fort Pierce, Florida, beginning in the 1950’s, for over 40 years and along with her husband, Robert, and daughters, showed domestic and wild animals to the public on their property on Bell Avenue. She was also a driver trainer-instructor for the St. Lucie County School Board Transportation Department. She owned and operated Candy Cane Child Care Center for several years.

For a number of years she was a member of Dutton Memorial Presbyterian Church in White City, FL where she and husband both taught Sunday School classes. She graduated from Indian River College with an Associates of Arts degree. She was a life-long member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 40 of Ft. Pierce and a member of Gold Star Wives. After Robert passed away in 1997, Martha moved back to Brevard and spent her remaining years enjoying retirement while living on part of the old family property in the Calvert area.

Private graveside services will be held at the White City Cemetery Mausoleum in Fort Pierce, Florida, where she will be placed next to her husband, Robert.
