Marvin “Craig” Wilkes, a caring father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on February 2, 2022, at age 75.
He was born to Helen Sharpe and Marvin Wilkes on September 4, 1946. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lynn Wilkes; sisters: Shirley Payne, and Florence Robinson; and brothers: Harold Wilkes, and Kenneth Wilkes.
He is survived by his children Carmenlena Jackson (Art Lofton), Verna Jenkins (Thomas Jenkins Jr.), and Marcus Wilkes (Sherri Wilkes) of Brevard. His granddaughters: Mercedes Streeter (Darien Streeter), Camden Jenkins, and Anuli Wilkes; his grandsons: Langston Wilkes, Caleb Jenkins, Booker Wilkes; and his great-granddaughter Nova Streeter-Aiken. His sister Mary Alice Mooney of Brevard, his cousin Douglas Canty, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Marvin was a Brick Mason and Craftsman. He touched many lives with his infinite amount of wisdom and sense of humor. He was impeccably witty. Many of you know he loved to give nicknames. Your nickname became who you were to him. He was a person that you could go to in a time of need, and he dedicated his life to his family. Although he left this life unexpectedly, we hold on to one of his favorite expressions, “Every goodbye ain’t gone.”
The family will have a private service.
