Mary Allison (Revised)

Mary Lou Allison, 85, of Pisgah Forest, went to her heavenly home, Sunday, January 29, 2023.  She was the daughter of the late Wae Mann and Silver Mann born in Haywood County on September 2, 1937.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death, by her husband, LeRoy Heath Allison, a daughter; Judy Redden, and a son-in-law; Jimmy Shelton and brother-in-law; Bobby Joe Nicholson.

Mary Lou was a member of Carr’s Hill Baptist Church, but loved visiting her home church, Rocky Hill Baptist Church.  She retired as a community service coordinator in Henderson County.  She had many talents, including a seamstress, florist, artist, magnificent cook (known for her homemade biscuits).  She enjoyed life and actually started playing tennis when she was 64 years old. She will be remembered for being very generous.

She is survived by her daughter; Cindy Shelton of Pisgah Forest, a son; Danny Allison (Sandy) of the home; a son-in-law Edwin Redden of Tennessee; three grandchildren: Kimberly Corona of Brevard, David Shelton of Brevard, Mandy Seal (Brad) of Tennessee; seven great-grandchildren: Adrian Shelton, Gloria Corona, Carmen Lopez, Maylyn Seal, Barrett Seal, Allison Seal and Dane Seal, a great-great-granddaughter, Kaylani Robinson and a sister: Judith Ann Nicholson and many cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Rocky Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Butch Skerrett officiating.

A special thank you to the employees of Cedar Mountain House for their love and compassion in taking care of Mary Lou.
