MARY RUTH CORWIN BEESON



Brevard - Mary Ruth Corwin Beeson, 85, died Wednesday, July 16, in Brevard, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Birmingham on Nov. 8, 1922, to Clarence Earl Corwin and Zudie Bell Corwin, and moved with her family to Charlotte when she was 9. She graduated from Central High School, Charlotte, NC.

She lifted spirits when she sang as "Little Betty Corwin" on WBT radio during World War II, and brightened the lives of family and friends with her sunny smile and personality.

In Charlotte, she was a founding member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and a member of Myers Park Country Club.

In 1975 she moved to Brevard with her late husband, Raymond L. Beeson. She was a member of Davidson River Presbyterian Church and Glen Cannon Country Club.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Raymond L. Beeson Jr.; sister, Zabelle Corwin Norwood; and her parents.

She is survived by a daughter Elizabeth Corwin Beeson, Charlotte; a son Charles H. Beeson and wife Lynne Beeson, Brevard; and two grandsons, Christopher and Taylor Beeson; and beloved nieces and nephews.

Services were held Saturday, July 19, at College Walk Retirement Center in Brevard. Burial was in the Davidson River Cemetery Extension. Memorials may be made to TCH Hospice, PO Box 2440, Brevard, NC 28712.
