Mary Bullock

Mary Mae Sizemore Bullock, 91, of Hertford, NC passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC.

She was born in Yadkin County on November 23, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Dewey Columbus and Emma Anna Mull Sizemore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Joseph Bullock, granddaughter Tara Kotelman, great-grandson Drake Jameson, and by her brother, Rev. William G. "Buddy" Sizemore.

A graduate of Brevard High School, she was later employed as a bookkeeper with Lockheed-Martin for several years. She later worked as a department store manager for Roses, then Robert Hall and Fabricfic. Methodist by faith, in earlier years she was a member and past guardian of Bethel #33 of Job's Daughters in Norfolk, VA.

Surviving are her three daughters: Frances Teresa Shacklock of Hertford, NC, Mary Jacquelyn Crawford and husband Kenneth of The Villages, FL., and Debra Ann Riter and husband Wesley of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters, Josephine Parker of Brevard and Emma Ann Clark of Garner; a brother, Dewey Sizemore, Jr., five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest.
