Mary D. (Mother) Edwards
Pisgah Forest - Mary D. (Mother) Edwards, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Transylvania Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lewis and Ellla Raines Goodson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay William Edwards; a son Jackie William Edwards, a daughter, Doris Jean Justus and four brothers.

Mary graduated from Brevard High School and spent her life caring for others and lived by the Golden Rule, "...do unto others as you would have them do unto you." She loved cooking.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her sons; Dennis Edwards and wife Maybelle of Etowah, Gerald Edwards and wife Vickie of Pisgah Forest, and Mike Edwards of Pisgah Forest; daughters, Carolyn Owenby and husband Charles, Diane Sumner, and Pecolia Edwards all of Pisgah Forest; grandchildren, Dawn Hughes, Mark, Kevin, and Kenny Edwards, Chuck and Chad Owenby, Travis and Brian Sumner, and Forest Bunzy, ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; extended family, Saul and Kane Reynolds, and Moby Sorrells.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 1:00pm at the Brevard Wesleyan Church with Revs. Hank Moffitt, Dave Blackburn, and Tommy Owen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Pisgah Gardens.
