Hickory, North Carolina

Mary R. Washington of Hickory, NC formerly of Brevard, NC passed away on Monday, September, 21, 2015. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. She was a daughter of the late Harry and Grace Smith Beach. She was also preceded in death by her husband William H. Washington and a son, John Blair Washington.
Survivors include her children, Mary Lou Menthe and husband Bob of Irving, TX, Wendell H. Washington and wife Chris of Binghamton, NY and Sharon K. Campbell and husband Douglas of Taylorsville, NC, one brother; Raymond Beach of Bradenton, FL, daughter-in-law, Jackie Washington of Lake Havasu, AZ, and 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mary Washington will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor Mary Hinkle Shore officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. at the church, prior to the service
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Sharing House, Post Office Box 958, Brevard, NC 28712.
