MONA BETH SHERRICK

Mona Beth Fullerton Sherrick, 82, of Brevard, died peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2015.

A native of West Orange, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William Oliver and Gertrude Mona Anderson Fullerton.

Mona graduated from Allegheny College where she met her husband, Harry Glenn Sherrick. They were married on December 26, 1954 and remained so until his death in October, 2004. Mona, a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church, served as a Christian educator in all of the churches to which she belonged, ultimately retiring as Christian Education Director from The Church of the Transfiguration, Dallas, Texas. Moving to Brevard in 1999, she was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and a cherished participant in the Wednesday morning Healing Service.

Mona was predeceased by her parents and beloved husband, and is survived by her daughter, Mona Lynn Sherrick of Brevard; her son, Stuart Craig Sherrick, of Houston, Texas; her brother, James Daniel Fullerton of Scroggins, Texas; several nieces, nephews and two grand nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2015 at St. Philip's Episcopal Church followed by a reception at the church. Burial will be private at St. Paul's In the Valley before the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Philip's Christian Nurture Fund, 256 East Main St., Brevard, NC 28712.
