Mordecia "Decia" Neely



Brevard - Mordecia "Decia" Neely, 97, died Monday, April 28, 2008 at Transylvania Community Hospital.

A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late James Luther and Martha Leona Gidney Saltz. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Edna Mae Ayers and Christine Scott, and her brothers, Edwin and Harold Saltz.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brevard.

Surviving are her daughter, Martha Jaye Johnson and husband Earl of Brevard; grandchildren, Jeff Johnson and wife Patty of Comer, GA, and Julie Wallace and husband Brandon of Fletcher; great grandchildren, Brooke, Jordan, Cameron, Preston, Josh, Justin, Danielle, Ashley, Jacob, and Canaan.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Brevard with the Revs. Mike Jordan and Kerry Purselle officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church parlor.
