Brevard, NC - Nancy Rachel McCrary Holden, died, Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Transylvania Community Hospital, Brevard, NC.

She was born February 14, 1933 in Pickens County, SC to the late Volney Foster and Lillie Perritt McCrary. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Brevard, NC and a life member of the VFW Post #4309 Auxiliary. She was a beloved wife, mother and friend and will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Holden was a registered nurse retiring after 31 years of service where she worked at area hospitals including, Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital, Transylvania Community Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital in Asheville, NC.

Mrs. Holden is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Charles W. Holden; one son William Foster Wilson and wife Kathy of Brevard, NC, two daughters; Sarah Ann Wilson of Brevard and Tracey Wilson Creamer and husband Steve of Brevard, one sister; Sarah McCrary Sutter of Bristol, TN, two grandchildren; Tessa Wilson and Taylor Creamer, and two nephews; Jimmy Jones and Todd Taylor. She was preceded in death by one sister Margaret McCrary Jones and one nephew Johnny Jones.

A Celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at 6:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church, Brevard, NC with Rev. Jimmy Fanning, Rev. Wayne Sorrells and Rev. Tommy Owen officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church Vision Fund, 10 Holden Rd., Brevard, NC 28712 or to the Charity of donor's choice.
