Nannie Mae Morgan Green

Nannie Mae Morgan Green, 89, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023. A Transylvania County native, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Haskell and Leathie Mariah Jones Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Lawrence Green; daughter Brenda Lee Garey; grandson Randall Carnell Mull, Jr.; brother Charles Monroe Morgan and sisters Florence Meece and Jennie Sue Hamilton; and son-in-law Robert Berry.

A true “survivor”, she was always a hard worker, learning to work while helping her father while logging. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophesy where she taught Sunday School and had a strong faith in God.

She loved her children, especially her “babies”, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and helped to raise several of them.

Her loving survivors include her daughters, Linda Berry (Bradley Fisher) and Carol Sue Green Owen; grandchildren: Joey Lawrence Berry (Dawn Raychelle), Christi Powell (William Stacy Powell), Kayla Berry, Justin Lawrence Berry, Brandon Owen and Nikki Owen; 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters Dorothy Jean Cobb and Mary Pangle.
