It is with great sadness that the family of Norman N. Griffin, Jr., 73, of Pisgah Forest, announce his passing. He was a native of Transylvania County and a graduate of Brevard High School where he was a member of the varsity football team.
He was a member of Bethel “A” Baptist Church, a retired Drill Sergeant in the U.S. Army, and a good fisherman.
After years of working at Ecusta, he worked several more years at Pisgah Forest Job Corps as he continued his service in the Army reserves.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Mary Griffin, and his siblings: Janie Sam, Mary, Susan, Jacqueline and Walter.
His loving survivors include his wife, Rhonda; his children Roger (Valerie), Marsha (Dennis), Nathan (Summer), Julie, Samantha and step-daughter Leanna; his siblings Antonio, Frank, Mary and Vivian. To continue his legacy and many memories are his 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews, friends and in-laws.

The family of Norman Griffin, Jr. wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown to us during this time of sadness. “Thank you” to all.
A celebration of Norman's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the American Legion Hall in Brevard.
