Brevard - Othalen Reid Watson, 90, died peacefully Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at The Oaks of Brevard surrounded by her loving family.


She was born on June 13, 1920 to the late William Wilkerson and Effie Lanning Reid. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl T. Watson; a son, Reid Watson; a daughter, Jane Hurd; four brothers and four sisters.


She is survived by her daughters; Carlene Ragan and husband Fred of Brevard, Violet Whitmire and husband E. W. of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren; Jeff Whitmire, Jennifer DiLemme, Bill Millner and Reid Millner, and Beth Walker; and seven great grandchildren and her niece Elaine Hannah.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11am in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernie Mills officiating. A private burial will be held at Pisgah Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brevard Academy Music Program, 299 Andante Lane, Brevard, NC or to the charity of ones choice.
