Pamela Jordan
Pamela Jane (Perdue) Jordan, 75, of Brevard, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, North Carolina. Though she succumbed to cancer, she was not beaten by it. In the few weeks after diagnosis, she interacted energetically with family and friends.
A native of Ft. Morgan, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late James and Raedeen Tibbetts Perdue. Pam is survived by her husband of 53 years, David R. Jordan; their sons Tom Jordan of St. Louis, Mo., and Jim Jordan and wife Kristen of Clemmons, NC; grandchildren Jenna Jordan, Alex Jordan and Norah Jordan; and sister Darcy McEvoy and husband Glenn of Bellingham, WA. A great number of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws are an important part of her extended family.
Educated at Colorado College and the University of Denver, Pam spent her professional career in public schools in Colorado, Michigan, and Texas. Her community work included a group effort to start an early education school and assisting after-school programs in several cities. When she joined with a few other parents to start a city youth soccer league, she was not too surprised when four weeks later they had over 600 registered players.
After living and working in Lake Jackson, TX from 1970 to 1995, she moved to North Carolina. Always a gardener, she enjoyed the North Carolina climate that supported the wide array of colors in the blooms of flowers and shrubs. An equally strong interest in the color play of fabrics led her to much enjoyment with quilting and to her many friends in those quilting groups.
A Memorial Service will be held for Pamela Jordan at 11:00am on Sept 10, at St Philips Episcopal Church in Brevard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Pam's name can be made to
