Patricia Ann Dran, 80, of Pisgah Forest, died peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2019. She was a daughter of the late Alpheus Petrie and Norma Blanchford Petrie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dran and a son, Steve Erlenbach.
Pat and Dick loved their mountain home in Pisgah Forest, where Pat worked lovingly on her garden and enjoyed watching birds, deer, and the occasional bear from her deck. After living in the area only a short while, she became deeply involved as a volunteer at the Brevard Music Center. Many of today’s volunteer activities at BMC were initiatives of Pat Dran, including Orientation, Welcome/Hospitality committee, Mailings and Deliveries committee, BMCA office data divas, and the year-end volunteer appreciation ceremony. Pat managed the Harmony House gift shop for many years, always offering a wide array of beautiful gifts and turning a healthy profit for the Music Center’s operations and scholarship programs.
A classical music aficionado, Pat lovingly played her grand piano which was located near a window that looked down at her yard and its wildlife. Her other interests included travel with her husband and entertaining her wide circle of friends. She will be remembered by her friends and family as someone who always extended a helping hand to those in need.
She is survived by a son: Ed Erlenbach of Whittier, CA, a daughter; Sharon Bach of Greenville SC, two granddaughters, Sophia Erlenbach and Jessica Delrosario and one great grandson, James Simmers.
No local services are planned.
