Pauline "Polly" Houston Tilson

Brevard - Pauline "Polly" Houston Tilson, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2010.
A native of Macon County, she was a resident of Transylvania County for many years. She was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church in Highlands, a Gold Star Mother, and had been the oldest living member of the Monroe Wilson VFW Post #4309 Auxiliary.
Mrs. Tilson was the daughter of the late Floyd and Ollie Belle Franks Houston and was the wife of the late Glen Tilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen Tilson, daughter, Mattie Whitmire, sons, David Tilson and Lane Tilson, brother, Don Houston, sons-in-law, Earl Wilson, Jim Parrish, and Jimmy Wicker.
Surviving are her children, Imogene Wicker of Pisgah Forest, Bobbie Parrish of Montgomery, TX, Steve Tilson and wife Kaye of Mills River, Judy Wilson of Brevard, Martha Rice and husband Eddie of Brevard; sisters, Floy Icenhower of Highlands, NC, Alene Calloway and husband Bob of Highlands; grandchildren, Tim Woodall, Joey Woodall, Sharon Cochran, Pam Henson, Vaughn Whitmire, Connie McGaha Amy Ball, Ladwin McCrary, Karen Monshaugen, Garrick Tilson, Amanda Brown, Jon Wilson, Jennifer Hibbs, Amber Anderson, Ashley Rice; 17 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; son-in-law, Joe Whitmire, a host of nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at Gillespie-Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Owen officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm Friday at Moore Funeral Home.
