Peggy Tickle

Peggy Sebastian Tickle, 86, went home to be with the Lord Monday, December 27, 2021, while at home surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Maple Lawn Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Byerly officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and the graveside committal will follow the service at the church cemetery.

Peggy was born in Wilkes County to the late Ray and Opal Sebastian. She retired from Sears and Roebuck Company after many years of service. She also served her church as the Secretary of Sunday School since she was 15 years old. After retiring, she dedicated her life to caring for others through her work as a in Home Nursing Assistant and in childcare. She enjoyed baking for others and her special Pound Cakes will be forever remembered. She loved puzzles and crocheting. Most of all she loved her church and her family she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years Pervis “Peewee” Tickle; son, Randall Ray Tickle and siblings, Mattie Bansley, Lois Blackwell, Dean Sebastian and Jessie Sebastian.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Candy Tickle Hoffman and husband, Paul of Brevard, NC; daughter-in-law, Wendy Epperley and husband Ronnie; granddaughters, Kristi Hensley and husband, David, Kellie Tickle and husband, Johnathan; grandsons, Benjamin Pruitt and Joe Ben Christopher Jr.; sister, Nannie Medley and husband Al; brother, Ed Sebastian and wife, Barbara; numerous nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and a large and loving extended family.
