Rachel Stoneback

Mrs. Rachel "Rae" Stoneback of Brevard, passed from this world into Heaven on the morning of Tuesday March 28, 2017. Born Sept. 18, 1921 in Phillipsburg, NJ, the daughter of Stewart and Martha Beatty, she was adopted and raised by "Pappy" Melchoir of Riegelsville PA and later by Margaret Seylar of Springtown PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Stoneback and brothers Bill Beatty and Bud Beatty.

Her passions were for life, family, friends, finding & growing wild plants and flowers (& the work associated with…), teaching, mowing grass, and the music of Frank Sinatra. She made outstanding pies and soups of all varieties, but mostly enjoyed watching them be consumed. She enjoyed a warm, flat lager on occasion. She was young in a time of world uncertainty and held everything she loved close. This was her wealth. She is loved and will be eternally missed.

We wish to say a special "thank you" to the staff at The Oaks of Brevard for their professional care, attention to detail, and kindness given to my mom.

Surviving family includes: son William, & grandchildren Kat, Izzy & Matthew Stoneback.

Private graveside services will be held by the family.
