Rayna Boothby

Rayna Maxine Boothby, 84, of Brevard, died on May 4, 2022 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. She was born in October 1937, in Gardiner, Maine, to Maxine (Mulhern) Hamlin and Albert Hoak and lived most of her life in Maine.

Rayna will be remembered as a kind and generous person, loving to her family and friends, as well as to all who fell into her orbit. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She was a homemaker throughout her life and loved to sew, knit, and bake for her family and others. Rayna will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children: Sheree Hickey Watt (Terry) of Brevard, NC, Leslie Hickey of West Gardiner, ME, and Rajean Boothby of Farmingdale, ME; grandchildren: Lee Hickey, Adam Walsh, Cassidy Watt, Marissa Watt Cook (Brendan), Ian Watt, Phoenix Howe, and Nia Hawkins; great-granddaughter Shantel (Walsh) Skipper (Isaiah); and sister Helen (Hamlin) Newbury.

Rayna was predeceased by her parents, husband Gene Boothby, daughters Lynn (Hickey) Shockley and Emily Boothby, granddaughter Libby Hickey, siblings Wendell Hoak, Russell Hoak, Beverley (Hoak) Thomas, Walter Hamlin, Jr., Nellie (Hamlin) Evans, and Orris Hamlin.
