Richard Woodfin "Wolfe" Rogers
Brevard - Richard Woodfin "Wolfe" Rogers, 73, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at his residence. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Richard and Katie Landreth Rogers.
Wolfe Rogers went home to be with his savior, surrounded by his family. He lived his life for the Lord Jesus Christ as an ordained minister as well as his entire family. His kind-heartedness and since of humor gave him many life long friends. Wolfe's banjo picking kept a lot of toes tapping. Wolfe was in several bluegrass bands such as Carolina Mountain Boys, Apple Pickers, Classic Grass, and Kings Creek. In his early years he was in a rock-n-roll band called the Band Masters. Wolfe was a jack of all trades and a master of many.
Surviving are his wife, Dot Fisher Rogers; son, Jeff Rogers of Lavonia, GA; daughters, Melanie Hannah and husband Ricky of Bethel, and Laura McCall of Hendersonville; adopted daughter, Missy Leopard of Brevard; sister, Josephine Wilson of Etowah; grandchildren, Candrea Moser, Amanda Devore, Katie, Lauren, and Rebecca Hannah, Richard Tyrell and Scott Rogers; great-grandchildren, Skye Rogers and Abigail Haney.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Danny Pearson and Roger Bright officiating. Burial will be in Lake Toxaway Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm Saturday at Moore Funeral Home.
