Ricky Rice

Ricky Norman Rice, 58, of Pisgah Forest, passed at on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Duke University Hospital in Durham. He was the son of the late Edwin Ruthford Rice, SR. and Doris Alma Smith Rice.
A graduate of Brevard High School and AB Tech in Asheville with a degree in Culinary Arts, he was a carpenter and cabinet maker as well as a local businessman. While he enjoyed playing golf, fishing and cabinet work, he loved his family most of all.
His survivors include his wife, Diane B. Rice; children Kyle Rice (Rose) of Horse Shoe, NC., and Kayla Rice (Josh Gosnell) of Brevard; grandson Hayden Byrd; brothers Eddie Rice (Martha) of Brevard and Jeff Rice of Brevard; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Ricky's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Forge Valley Event Center at 8818 Boylston Highway, Mills River, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to a favorite charity or local church.
