Rita Whitmire

Rita Jean Whitmire, 72, of Brevard, NC passed away on February 25, 2013 after a brief illness.

She was a daughter of the late Herbert and Lila McCall Hall and a native and lifelong resident of Transylvania County. She was preceded in death by her husband J.B. Whitmire who died in 1995 and two brothers; Herbert "Hub" Hall and Eric Hall.

She was a member of Community Baptist Church and retired from College Walk.

Her family and friends will miss her kind smile and sweet spirit for she truly made the world a better place to live.

She is survived by two daughters; Wanda Pruitt and her husband David of Hendersonville, NC, Cheryl Elledge and her husband Anthony of Asheville, NC, four grandchildren; James Pruitt and his wife Rachel, Mathew Pruitt and his future wife Chelsey Trojan, Stephanie Jarvis and her husband Josh and Renee Pruitt, five great grandchildren; Brook, Timothy and Mitchell Pruitt and Maddy and Noah Jarvis, and one niece; Penny Stewart.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 1, 2013 at Community Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Calvert Baptist Church Cemetery.
