Robert "Bob" John Keehn



Brevard - Robert "Bob" Keehn, 86, died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Transylvania Community Hospital. A native of Rochester, NY, he was a son of the late John Adam Keehn and Roberta Holliday Keehn. He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard.



He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. After being discharged, he

Returned to college and graduated from Hartwick College, Oneonta, NY and the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. He worked for the New York State Department of Health, was Director of the Bureau of Vital Statistics for the State of Connecticut, and retired from the National Academy of Sciences in 1985. He and his wife moved to Brevard in 1989 and spent very happy retirement years here.



He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Evelyn, four sons, Gordon and wife Sue, Alan, Carl and wife Carla, and Mark and wife Rachel; one daughter, Joy McGaw, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.



A memorial service will be held at St. Timothy United Methodist Church on June 28th at 2:00 PM, with the Reverend Randolph Harry officiating.
