Robert S. "Buddy" Kenney

Penrose - Robert S. Buddy Kenney, 81, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at his residence. A native of Crawford, GA, he was the son of the late Harry S. Kenney and Helen Wood Kenney. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers.
Mr. Kenney was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in the Philippines with the Seabees during WW II and he was a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lorene S. Kenney; son, Jack M. Kenney and wife Carolyn of Penrose; daughter, Barbara Russell of Penrose; grandsons, Wesley Russell and wife Laura of Charlotte, Kyle Kenney and daughter Brooklyn of Penrose; sister, Margaret Woods of Charlotte; brothers, David Kenney of Eatonton, GA, and Harry Kenney of Dothan, AL; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00AM Friday at St. Timothy United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randolph Harry officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 Friday at Evergreen Memorial Park, Athens, GA.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 PM Thursday at Moore Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Timothy United Methodist Church Sound System Fund, P.O. Box 429, Brevard, NC 28712.
