Robert Rhyne

Robert Y. Rhyne- Brevard
Brevard - Robert Y. Rhyne, 96, died on January 8, 2011 at the Brian Center.

He was born on May 15, 1914 to the late Robert Edgar, Sr. and Margretta Anna Yoder Rhyne. He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years, Frances Haltiwanger Rhyne; a brother, John Rhyne; and a sister, Sarah Rhyne Finger.

Robert was a charter member and leader of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. He was also a member and Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge in Brevard. He attended the University of North Carolina Medical School.

Surviving is his wife of 20 years, Mildred Williams Rhyne; two daughters, Rebecca Ann Harris of Port Orchard, WA, and Carolyn R. Vaughn (Frank) of Rosman, NC; a son, Robert Y. Rhyne, Jr. (Melissa) of Winthrop Harbor, IL; nine grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 2pm at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
