Roland H. Enloe, 93, passed away on March 14, 2017. He was the son of the late Herbert C. and Annie C. Enloe. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Wilma Picklesimer Enloe; his sister Louise E. Hogsed and brothers Carl A. Enloe and Judson H. Enloe.
He was educated in the Judson, NC schools near Bryson City, NC. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
He was retired from the Olin Corporation in Pisgah Forest, NC. After retirement, he had a small family farm where he enjoyed working with his cows, donkeys, chickens, dogs and cats.
He was a member of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church.
Left to celebrate his memory are: daughter Marguerite, daughter Kay and husband Jimmy Stanley, a grandson Bradley Green and wife Alicia, a granddaughter Kristen McCaskill and husband Robert, a grandson Corey Stanley and wife Sylwia, a granddaughter Stephanie Ledford and husband Dwayne; eight great grandchildren; sisters Jean E. Foster and husband Jim, Hazel Hunter; brother Robert D. Enloe and several nieces and nephews.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Enloe will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 in the chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations with Rev. Ray Talley officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to one hour before the service. The United States Navy and The Transylvania County Veterans Honor Guard will provide military rites.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Children's Home of NC, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27360.
