Ronnie Calloway, 74, of Brevard, passed away on October 8, 2022. A native of Franklin, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Claude Lewis and Marie Dalton Calloway. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Doris Underwood, and his brothers, W.C. Calloway, Scott Calloway and Junior Calloway.
A United States Army Veteran that served during the Vietnam War, Ronnie was very proud to have served his country. After his service he worked for DuPont in Transylvania County for over 30 years until his retirement.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing his guitar, telling a good joke, and was never one to pass up a good argument, but his greatest joy was his family. He loved watching his children, and his grandchildren play ball and grow up well.
His loving survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lazelle Calloway; their children: Pam Shook (Wesley) and Mike Calloway (Laura); their grandchildren: Dalton Calloway and Bethany Shook (T. J. Newkirk) their great-granddaughter Scarlett Hughes; his sister, Victoria Thompson (Bob), and his brothers: C.L. Calloway (Melba), Joe Calloway (Linda) and Donnie Calloway (Elizabeth “Bitsy”).
