Rosemary Haire

Rosemary A. Haire, 91, formerly of Brevard,died Thursday,December 6, 2012 at the Sojourner House of Kalamazoo, MI.



She was a daughter of the late Grover and Rosa Ann (Richards)Cavinder.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a young son, David C.Pratley,and a foster son, Phillip R. Cavinder; her former husband Carl A. Pratley and husbands Jules R. Roelly and Edwin I. Haire; three brothers Raymond, Lisle and Max; and two sisters Doris Cavinder and Jean Spindlow.



Rosemary was a 1940 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School.  She had been employed as an executive secretary at Olivet College.  She was the first President of Transylvania County Literacy Council, a member of the Hospital Auxillary and worked in the Auxillary Beauty Shop. She co-chaired a Christmas Hospital Auxillary Fund Raiser with her husband Ed and contributed many beautiful craft items for the Bazaar each year. She was also a member of 4 C Board, the Choral group,and acted in a civic theater play.



She is survived by two daughters Karen(Pratley)Thorngate and Dorrie

(Cavinder)O'Connell of Kalamazoo,MI; two grandsons Jeffery(Terri)Thorngate of Kalamazoo and Larry(Juliette)Ward of Slidell, LA; four great grandchildren Alyssa and Nicholas Thorngate and Zachary Ward of Kalamazoo, MI and Alexis Ward of Allegan, MI;one great great granddaughter Makayla Jean of Kalamazoo, MI;four sisters June Gardner and Janet (Jim) Needham of Marshall,MI, Beth (Milburn)

Jones and Barbara Vantrease of Battle Creek, MI; many nieces and nephews;three step-daughters Barbara (Roelly) Bedolla of Ferndale, MI, Julie (Roelly) Ramsey of Manistee, MI, and Mary Jo (Haire) McGuire of Merritt Island, FL; two step-sons Thomas (Cathy) Haire of Roswell, GA, Dr. Bradford (Leesa) Haire of Silver City, NM; and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.



Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM, December 15, 2012 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.  The family will receive friends from

1:45 PM - 2:45 PM at Moore Funeral Home & Cremations Services.
