Roy Reichert

Roy S. Reichert, 79, died on January 31, 2013 at INOVA Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Leesburg, VA.

He was born on August 30, 1933 in Cranford, NJ to the late Harold and Betty Reichert. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dawn, and a brother, Harold.

Roy retired from Bell Laboratories/AT&T in 1987 where he worked as a computer programmer and computer center supervisor. After retiring, he and Dawn moved top Pisgah Forest, NC, where they had built a log home. He and Dawn eventually moved to College Walk in Brevard, NC, where they stayed until Dawn's death in 2004. He moved to be with family in the Leesburg, VA area in early 2005. While in Brevard, Roy spent time building projects for his house, teaching at Brevard College, and writing a computer technical article for a Brevard newspaper.

Roy is survived by two sons; Alan Reichert and his wife Laura, and Jeffrey Reichert and his wife Penny, one brother; Arnold Reichert, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Gillespie-Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moore Funeral Home and Cremation Services from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Roy's name to a Parkinson's research charity of your choice.
