Pisgah Forest - Ruth M. Dienes, 83, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at her residence after an extended illness two days prior to her 84th birthday.

She was born in Columbus, OH and was a graduate of West High School in Columbus. After marriage, she moved to Cleveland, OH where she and her family lived until moving to Brevard in 1973. She is remembered by many for her years spent working at the Sky City store in Brevard.

She was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School, participated in Bible studies, involved in church women's groups, and served as a delegate at Church Conventions.

Mrs. Dienes is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill Dienes; a daughter, Marilyn Huamanchumo of Indian Trail, NC; a son, Tim Dienes of Charlotte, NC; one grandson, Mike Jones of New York, NY; one brother, and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30pm, Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 22 Fisher Rd, Brevard, NC 28712. A reception will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Lutheran Campus Ministry, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 E Rosemary St., Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
