Shirley Crow

Simpsonville, South Carolina

Shirley Ann Crow, 86, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, passed away on November 30, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC. A native of Weatherford, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Allen and Mary Eleanor Coulson Kuhn, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Thomas "Beng" Stixrud, and her husband of 27 years, Jon Crow; and also her brother Allen Kuhn.
Shirley and her husband, Beng, were missionaries to the Congo from 1954 to 1974. After retiring from the mission field, she became the secretary for her church, Ingleside Presbyterian, in Scottdale, GA. After Beng's death in 1981, she met and married Jon Crow, a former missionary to Brazil. They retired to Brevard, NC in 1986.
She was passionate about her faith in Jesus from the time she gave her heart to Him at 9 years old and she instilled a love for Him in each of her children.
She is survived by her children: Roxann Rule and husband Paul of Timberon, NM, Thomas Stixrud and wife Jean of Rosman, NC, Donna Crawford and husband Carl of St. Petersburg, FL., Helga Lewis and husband Peter of Simpsonville, SC, and Virginia "Ginny" McCall of Rosman, NC; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for Shirley Crow will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Christ Covenant Church with Rev. Tom Arnold officiating.
