Sophia Kempista Logan, 96, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on November 17, 2014 at The Oaks of Brevard. A native of Wilmington, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine B. Kempista. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Maurice F. Logan; sisters Alice Schultz of Bethlehem, PA, Geneive Jester of Wilmington, DE; brothers Henry Kempista of Wilmington, DE, Frank Kempista of Arlington, VA and John Kempista of Wilmington, DE.
She is survived by her son, Robert M. Logan of Arden, NC and his friend Erma Huntley Rhodes; a brother Edward Jester of Wilmington, DE; niece Marge Denardo and husband of Ron of Bangor, PA., niece Sue Griffin and husband John of Bethlehem, PA; nephew Guy Logan and wife Carrie of Clayton, GA., nephew Murdo Logan of Tampa, FL; nephews Phillip and William Kempista of New Castle, DE; Joseph Kempista of Wilmington, DE and numerous other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Sophia enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and working in her garden.
The Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with Rev. Paul Smith officiating.
