Spencer Mull

September 19, 1950 — March 8, 2016

Penrose, North Carolina

Spencer Wayne "Whizzer" Mull of Penrose, NC passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. A native of Transylvania County, he was a lifelong resident of Brevard and a graduate of Brevard High School. He was the son of the late Spencer McKinley and Reba Mae George Mull. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister Maxine Elizabeth Mull Roper.

Wayne, or "Whizzer" as he was called, was loved by everyone that knew him. He had countless friends and had never met a stranger. He had traveled all over the United States and had many lively adventures and crazy stories to tell.
He was an exceptional artist and his specialty was his "wood-spirit" carvings. He took great pleasure in talking to people. He loved all things in nature and spent most of his time outside where he sat on his hill and was at peace. He used to ride his bicycle daily to feed his mother while she was at Ivy Hill. One of the many reasons he was considered a selfless and giving person.

Wayne is survived by his niece, Robin Roper Ellis of Penrose; two great-nieces: Carrie Roper Addis and husband Damien of Pisgah Forest and Rachel Maxine Ellis of Penrose; nephew Nathan Scott Ellis of Penrose; and several cousins on the George and Mull Sides.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Mull Family Cemetery on Wayne's hill.
