Stephen Talmadge, Sr.

Stephen Alfred Talmadge, Sr., 90, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021. A native of Middlesex County, New Jersey, he was the son of the late James Thomas and Christina Kelly Talmadge. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 13 siblings.

Survivors include his children, Stephen A. Talmadge, Jr (Julie) and Pamela Moore (Donald); grandchildren Stephen Talmadge III (Anna DiMartino), Christina Talmadge Bancroft (Steve), Stephanie Ledford (Dwayne), Cory M. Stanley (Sylwia) and Jerusha Johnson; great-grandchildren Alyson Blackwelder, Grayson Blackwelder, Dylan Ledford, Faith Ledford, Victor Stanley, Scarlett Stanley, Holden Johnson and Scout Johnson; siblings Christina Freligh (John), Andrew Talmadge (Kathleen) and Doris Schell.

Graveside services for Mr. Talmadge will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Shannon Owen officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of Turkey Creek Baptist Church after the conclusion of the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 31 College Place Suite D-320, Asheville, NC 28801.
