Straley Morris

Straley Howard "Boots" Morris, 97, of Etowah passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014. He was born in McDowell County to the late James and Lula Moore Morris. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by seven sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Morris was a WWII Veteran, having served in the US Navy. He also worked for Ecusta in Brevard for 38 years.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Gertrude Whitson Morris, sons Charles Morris of Etowah, NC, and Harold Morris and wife Bernice of Glenwood, NC; daughter Barbara Turner of Etowah, NC; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and brothers Loster Morris of Brevard and Dewey Morris of Hickory.

Graveside services for Mr. Morris will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 with Don Mitchell and Bill Mitchell officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Hospice Center at the Charles Geaorge Veterans Hospital in Asheville.
