Susan Cannon

Susan M. Cannon, 74, of Brevard, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at her home after a lengthy illness. A native of Daytona Beach, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Dr. E. Gaine Cannon and Helen Robinson.
Susan graduated from Georgia State University and had a long career with the Department of Energy and finished her career as a consultant. In retirement, she returned to her beloved mountains where she took great pleasure in renovating, decorating and landscaping her home.
She is survived by her son, Jay Phaler, who was the light of her life; her brother, David Cannon and wife Gwen of Clemson, SC, her sister Priscilla Buchanan and husband Joe of Brevard, and her brother John Cannon of Conyers, GA. She is also survived by nephews Sean Cannon and Brad Buchanan and wife Rachel; and great-nephew Alex Buchanan and great-niece Aubrea Holland.
A celebration of her life will be held from 1pm to 3 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at her residence.
