Thad Elmore, Jr.

Thad V. Elmore, Jr., 80, of Brevard, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022. A native of Burke County, NC, he was the son of the late Thad and Hazel Lunsford Elmore. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Doris Ann Roseman, and his brothers, Doug, and Jerry Elmore.

A United States Army Veteran, he served in Army Security. He then worked as a North Carolina Highway Patrolman for 25 active years, until his retirement.

He enjoyed staying busy in retirement, using both carpentry and welding skills to build a variety of things for friends and family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, although mostly for fun and relaxation. He had a quick wit and sense of humor that never left him.

His greatest joy was in his family: his wife of 58 years, Susan Elmore; their children, Bradley and his wife Carrie and Elizabeth Elmore Walker and her husband, Jason; grandchildren: Justin and Nolan Elmore and Noah Walker; and his brothers, Billy Elmore and Terry Elmore and his wife Liz.

Service arrangements will be private.
