Thelma Erickson

Thelma B. Erickson, of Brevard, NC passed away on November 2, 2014 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Ralph Monroe Ruehlen and Lillie Davis Ruehlen. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David L. Erickson.
Thelma was a member and past President of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. She received her Diploma of Nursing at St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1962 and her BS of Nursing in 1994 from College of St. Francis, Joliet, Ill.

She devoted her life to health care and was proud to have been a surgical nurse, Head of Surgical Services, Director of Quality Management for many hospitals and a member of the Board of Directors of Transylvania Regional Hospital. She was passionate about her work and her staff. She was always willing to serve where she was needed.

She was a Master Gardener and an avid quilter. She loved her granddaughters, waterfalls and living in the community of Connestee Falls. She was passionate about international travel and her friends.

She is survived by one son; Mark M. Erickson and wife, Andrea of Juno Beach, FL., and two granddaughters; Vivian and Ava.

The Memorial Service for Mrs. Erickson will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Brevard with Rev. Mary Hinkle Shore officiating.

A reception will follow the service and the family will receive friends.
