Thelma Collins Morgan

Brevard- Thelma Collins Morgan, 93, of Brevard, North Carolina passed away on August 30, 2011 at The Oaks of Brevard. She was a daughter of the late S.P. and Bessie Pittillo Collins. She was also preceded in death by her husband Edwin Augustus Morgan who died in 1992.

Thelma was a long standing member of First Baptist Church in Brevard. She was a graduate of Brevard High School and a 1936 graduate of Asheville Normal College.

While her husband served in the army during World War II, she worked in the tax assessor's office of Transylvania County.

She is survived by a son, Thomas E. Morgan and his wife, Sandra of Brevard, NC, two grandsons, Garrett Morgan and his fiancee, Tasha Howard of Central, SC and Ryan Morgan and his wife, Kelly and their daughter Malia of Clyde, NC. She is also survived by a brother, Dwight E. Collins and his wife, Pat of Hendersonville, three nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, September 1, 2011, in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Hedgepath officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pisgah Gardens.
