Theodore Hoxit
Lake Toxaway -Theodore Hoxit, 87, of Lake Toxaway, died Sunday evening, May 23, 2010 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. He was a native of Jackson County and was a son of James Estes and Margaret Owen Hoxit. He was preceded in death by his wife Veardeary Fisher Hoxit, and a son, John Hoxit.

Mr. Hoxit was a veteran of WWII having served with the Army Air Corp in Italy. He lived most of his life in Transylvania County. He retired from North Carolina Department of Transportation in 1979 and he had a small farm on Flat Creek Valley Road, near Lake Toxaway. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather.

He is survived by two sons; Ray Hoxit and wife Judy of Brevard, Bob Hoxit and wife Irma of Lake Toxaway, one daughter; Linda Whitaker and husband Bob of Saluda, one brother; Arthur Hoxit and one sister; Ollie Sanders, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Hoxit Family Cemetery off Flat Creek Valley Road. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 PM at Moore Funeral Home.
