Thomas Mccrary

Thomas William McCrary, 94, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Virgil and Ida McCall McCrary. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles McCrary and his sisters Dola Shipman, Helen Duckworth, Dorothy Case, Lucille Lawler, Kathleen Moore, and Mary Wilson.

An active member of Little River Baptist Church, Mr. McCrary was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. Self-Employed for many years, he loved people and his community; he was a “Little River Man.” He was light-hearted and loved to laugh, and he loved his family.

His loving survivors include his wife of 27 years, Jayne Melton McCrary; step-sons Mark Parker of Little River and Matt Parker (Amy) of Little River; grandchildren: Emma Parker, Grayson Parker, and Anna Parker; sister-in-law Judy McCrary; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. McCrary will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Little River Baptist Church with Rev. Marc Reynolds officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
