Brevard - Virginia T. Taylor, 96, died Friday, September 2, 2011 at Tores Home.

She was born in Sulphur Springs, TX to the late Hubbard H. and Virginia Russell Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Anne Taylor.

Mrs. Taylor was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Brevard. She was also a member of the P.E. O. Chapter in Brevard.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Mayes and husband Bill of Brevard; grandchildren, Andrew L. Mayes of Burgaw, NC and Matthew Mayes and wife Kate of Aiken, SC; great grandchildren, Tanner, Matthew and Barrett Mayes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Brevard Building Fund, 325 N Broad St., Brevard, NC 28712, Transylvania Public Library, 212 S. Gaston St., Brevard, NC 28712, or to Hospice of Transylvania Regional Hospital, 1266 Asheville Hwy, Brevard, NC 28712.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 3pm at the First United Methodist Church in Brevard with the Revs. Mike Jordan and Kerry Purselle officiating.
