Wayne Hunter

Wayne G. Hunter, 70 of Grover, NC passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at his home. A native of Brevard, he was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Angelina "Linda" Hunter. He was a 1964 graduate of Brevard High School, and had a lifelong love for the Brevard Blue Devils; first as a player and later as a volunteer.

He retired from DuPont in Brevard, where he worked for 30 years. After retiring, Wayne worked at B&W Auto Parts in Hendersonville.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his daughter Angie Byrd and husband David of Lincolnton; Brooke Baldwin of Hendersonville, and Brian Baldwin and his wife Maranda of Denver, NC; his sister, Rose Canup and husband Jim of Brevard, his brother Joe Hunter and wife Maxine of Brevard; his grandchildren, Christian Byrd, Matthew Byrd, Alexis Baldwin, Kayden Baldwin, and Portia Pryor; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 8th, 2017 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Moore-Blanchard Funeral Home in Brevard.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue at PO Box 8195, Asheville NC 28814 in honor of Wayne's passion and love for animals, especially Simone, Lucky, Scooby and Griffin.
