William Aiken

William “Darien” Douglas Aiken, 89, passed away on the evening of July 25th, 2022.  A native of Bloomfield, NJ and a longtime resident of St. Petersburg, FL and Brevard, NC.

Known as Bill to some and Darien to others, Darien and his wife Marti spent years traveling and operating a business known as Teddy Bear Tours in St. Petersburg catering to the senior community in Florida.  With the tour company, they visited some 70+ countries and made 99 cruises.

Theater and acting were a major part of Darien’s life for the past 50 years.  From directing and acting to set design and just about everything in between, the theater ran through his blood providing fun and entertainment for everyone.

After leaving, St. Petersburg, they settled here in Brevard where Darien was active with the Brevard Little Theatre and the Connestee Amateur Theater Society.  He and his wife were avid Bocce players in the Connestee Falls community.

Darien is survived by his wife of 65 years and a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Vicki Vaden of Gallatin, TN, a grandson, Stephen Vaden and great grandson, Scott Vaden III.
