William Oravec

William Oravec, 80, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Transylvania Regional Hospital.



He was born in Cleveland, OH to the late William and Catherine Rash Oravec.



Mr. Oravec was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH with a Bachelors Degree. After a long career with AT & T, he retired in 1990.



William proudly served his country in the US Army as a Sargent Instructor with Signal Corp.



He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Irene Oravec; his children, Bill Oravec (Cheryl) of Burlington, CT, Joan Haibon (Paul) of New Windsor, NY, Janet Davaros(John) of Whitestone, NY, Joyce Nichols(Bill) of Mechanicville, NY, and Bob Oravec(Tracey) of Severn, MD; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.



A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
