William Ray

William George Ray, 85, played his last jazz on earth on August 23, 2018, in Brevard, NC. He was the son of the late Edward and Lucille Macon Ray of Waco, Texas. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kimela Ray, his brothers Buddy and Ernie and his sisters Patsy and Carol Leidig.

He was known as "The Man with the Golden Hands," whether playing music or repairing things. He loved to travel, paint and play music. He lived and loved well on his own terms.

Mr. Ray is survived by his wife of 37 years, Shirley Robinson-Ray, and their son, Michael, as well as nieces and nephews and loving friends.

No local services are planned at this time.

The family requests donations be made in his name to the local humane society.
