William Hugh Siniard, born February 18, 1926, son of the late Hale and Jennie Fortune Siniard, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 surrounded by his family. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by siblings: C.W., Gaston, Bud, Dick, Guis and Molly Siniard Clark.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Frances Parris Siniard; their children: Bill Jr., Jeff, Nathan (Juana) and Beth Justice (Jeff); grandchildren: Carrie Siniard Trent (Emily), and McKenzie Justice; and his great-grandchild, Skyler Brown and her father, Chris Brown. He was also blessed with many wonderful in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II in the Pacific theater. His many stories have been profiled by the Veteran’s Museum of the Carolinas in Brevard. He was a long-standing member of 72 years at Oak Grove and St. Timothy United Methodist Church.
He retired from Olin/Ecusta after 37 ½ years of service. After retirement he spent his time gardening, sharing the fruits of his labor with friends, family and neighbors. He was caretaker of Oak Grove Cemetery and assisted with the upkeep of St. Timothy and was always willing to help those in need. These are just a few of his many accomplishments. His favorite quote was “Born free and taxed to death!”
He was a great man of the Greatest generation. He will be sorely missed by his family whom he loved so much.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at St. Timothy United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service. A private inurnment will be at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the following: Care Partners Hospice Services, Veterans Hospital, Susan Osborn, the Church and extended family, friends and neighbors for their care, kindness and prayers.
