William White

William R. White, 80, of Brevard, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorsville, NC. A native of Laurinburg, NC, he was the son of the late Emmett and Hannah Hutchins White. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lenny Ray White, Jack White, Ed Lee White, Emmett Royce White and Glen White and also an infant sister.

After completing his undergraduate work at Wake Forest University, Mr. White joined the U.S. Army and served a tour of duty in Germany. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Wake Forest and received his Law degree.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Allen White; daughters Lisa Edwards of Conover, NC, Jennifer Adams and husband Billy of Taylorsville, NC, and Pamela Rollins and husband George of Greer, SC; grandchildren Lauren Edwards of Cullowee, NC, Will Adams and Jackson Adams of Taylorsville, NC and Ashley Rollins of Greer, SC., and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for William R. White will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Brevard with Rev. Tommy Crocker and Rev. Joe Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorsville, 581 NC Hwy 16, Taylorsville, NC 28681 or First Baptist Church, 94 S. Gaston St., Brevard, NC 28712.
