Willie Mae Mehaffey

Willie Mae “Billie” Mehaffey, 96, of Brevard, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Born in Gastonia, NC, she was the daughter of the late Troy and Mary Stiles Davis. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Hunley “Mac” Mehaffey; and her brothers: W.T. Davis and Richard “Buster” Davis.

Her relationships, with Jesus first, and then with her family, with of the utmost importance to her. She had an unwavering trust in Jesus as Lord and she always had smiles for her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She found great joy in life serving and helping others around her. She also loved singing, both at home and in the church choir.

Her survivors include her children: John Mehaffey (Melody) and Brenda Summer (Richard); grandchildren: Hannah Summer, Callie Summer, Dustin Mehaffey (Chelsea), Caleb Mehaffey (Hannah) and Simon Mehaffey; great-grandchildren: Maddux and Palmer; and her brother, Don Davis.

Funeral Services for Willie Mae Mehaffey will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest, NC.  Interment will follow at Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, prior to the service.
